With time, all server components will fail. Thankfully, OVH US has you covered. OVH US will replace any server component that fails free of charge. When a hard drive fails, OVH US will replace the disk. In order to make sure we replace the correct disk, we will need to be provided with the serial number of the corrupted hard disk.
In some cases (i.e. when the hard disk is dead), it is not possible to retrieve the serial number. If this happens, provide us with the serial number of all of the other hard drives and ask for the replacement of the disk that is not listed in the serial numbers you provided.

Finding the Serial Number with SoftRaid
Using the following command in our Linux server will give us the name of our storage device as well as its serial number:
$ lsblk -d -o name && lsblk -d -o serial
The output you receive will be the name of your hard disks followed by the serial number in the following format:
NAME sdb sda SERIAL K5H4XXXX K5H4XXYY
Simply line up the device name with the serial number. In the above example, the device name is
sdb and its serial number is K5H4XXXX.
Once you have acquired the serial number of your hard disk, you can proceed to request a disk replacement.
