In this article, we will be discussing OVH US Monitoring, which allows you to monitor the status of your machine from the OVH US Manager. It also automatically triggers an intervention at the Data Center when the server becomes unresponsive to ICMP requests (ping). Additionally, OVH US will notify a customer via email when we detect a potential issue with their server. All OVH US servers and networks are monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week by the OVH US technical teams.
Monitoring IP Addresses
In order to implement a restrictive firewall without losing the benefit of Monitoring, it is necessary to whitelist the following IPs:

|xxx.xxx.xxx.251 (xxx.xxx.xxx.aaa is the server IP)||icmp + Port monitored by OVH US Monitoring|
First, log in to the OVH US Manager. On the left-hand tab select the Dedicated Server in question from the Dedicated servers drop-down menu.
Enable Monitoring of Specific Services
In addition to the standard Monitoring, you can enable OVH US to monitor specific services such as HTTP, SSH, and other protocols in the OVH US Manager. To do this, click Monitor my services under the "Service status" section on the Server status tab. Click Monitor a service and you will be taken to the following screen:
Enter the IP address, protocol, port number, server response, and the time interval between checks on your service and press the check mark to confirm the changes.
